MONT BLANC SUMMIT
This trip is limited to 8 guests!
Ready for some alpine mountaineering?!
Mont Blanc is the highest peak in Western Europe at 15,777ft. Summiting this mountain requires alpine mountaineering and physical endurance. You will truly feel accomplished taking on this alpine challenge!
THE SUMMIT
The ascent is not technically difficult, but you can expect some
scrambling on exposed ridges at high altitude. Ropes, crampons, and an ice axe will be used throughout the climb. Previous alpine mountaineering experience is not required. Many regard Mont Blanc as a gateway into the world of high-altitude mountaineering.
Our summit will be a Private 4-day Mont Blanc experience. Due to the private nature of this trip we will only hike and summit with our group, allowing us to move together. There will be 1 guide for 2 people, requiring an even number of guests for this portion of the trip.
This can be added on to the Chamonix trip as an extension OR it can be booked as an exclusive option. Those participating in the the Chamonix trip will already have acclimatization prior to beginning Mont Blanc. If you sign up for the Mont Blanc Summit exclusively you will have an additional day in Chamonix and an acclimatization activity prior to beginning the 4-day summit.
- Day 1 – Snow School! This is a training day on the mountain to practice hiking in crampons, using an ice axe and walking in a rope line
- Day 2 – Hike to the mountain hut at 10,404ft of elevation for dinner and sleep
- Day 3 – Summit Day with a second night in the mountain hut
- Day 4 – 2nd Summit attempt (if necessary) and then back to Chamonix
PHYSICAL READINESS
Previous alpine experience is not necessary for Mont Blanc, but physical endurance, overall fitness and a strong desire to complete the hike will be required.
It is recommended to be able to hike 6 hours over challenging terrain carrying a ~20lb backpack. Trail running or stair climbing can be a great way to build your physical endurance.
Strength training for legs, back, core and upper body are also crucial to build the stamina needed for this summit.
Our guides will be assessing each person physical readiness during our first days together. They will remove individuals from the trip if they believe their fitness level is insufficient and could be a safety hazard to themselves or others in the group.
ACCOMODATIONS
Our nights in Chamonix will be spent a hotel centrally located in the middle of town, close to restaurants and shopping, very near the Aiguille du Midi cable car.
Once on the mountain we will spend 2 nights in a mountain hut. This is a unique experience that every mountaineer should experience!
In the mountain hut you will experience dorm-style sleeping, hearty mountain meals and other hikers from all over the world. This is a place to rest and recharge creating a magical atmosphere as part of our expedition.
